RS 600
RS 600 is a 3D Computed Tomography system for large light alloy parts, which require an X-ray source with 600 kV (or 450 kV) due to their wall thickness. Details of 0.1 mm – 0.3 mm can be detected. The system mechanics are designed for objects of up to 1.5 m length, 800 mm diameter and 300 kg weight. RS 600 has been optimised for short testing periods, in order to enable high capacities especially in the field of fault detection. Complete volume data are generated within minutes by means of direct Cone Beam CT (3D-CT). For fast Fan Beam CT (2D CT) scans linear detector arrays can be integrated. RS 600 is suited for the development, optimisation and control of manufacturing processes. The analysis of volume data of the test object enables to draw a conclusion on the cause of faults of detected pores, cracks or inclusions. Typical ranges of application of the 2D CT mode are dimensional measurement, comparison with CAD data and reverse engineering.
